FOUNDING STORY
FOUNDING STORY
FOUNDING STORY
FOUNDING STORY
LeDessa Brown
Founder
In December of 2013, my Father was diagnosed with cancer and the pain I felt that day, was indescribable. To make matters worse, a few months later in 2014, my mother, both of my grandfathers, as well as myself, were also found with tumors, diagnosed with cancer, and/or other medical conditions all at the same.
My whole world seemed like it was falling into pieces. After months and months of hospital visits between my family members, and myself; unexpectedly my grandfather passed away in June of 2014 while I was out of the country on a ministry/mission trip. Only to add more pain to the sorrow, and grief I had already felt, my Father passed away unexpectedly on Thanksgiving Day of that same year.
Life for me would never be the same; but little did I know, God would use what seemed like my horror story, and turn it into a new beginning. He turned a painful season into a safe haven to help save the lives of others, even my own. God had given me another gift; He had chosen me to be a voice in the earth, to witness to His people, the importance, and the power that comes along with having a healthy lifestyle spiritually, physically, and mentally.
As we continue to strive in doing our part to be a beacon of hope, and a light of inspiration within our community, and abroad; our goal will forever be, to educate and help others in need, to encourage others to live a healthier life, in every area of their lives, and to do it through and with the Love of Jesus Christ.

Programs
Our Purpose and Mission is to help aid in restoring healthy living and wholeness of life, back into our communities, one day at a time. We have had the privilege of partnering with some amazing companies and organizations such as: Novant Health of North Carolina, Walmart, The Susan G. Komen Foundation, Synchrony Bank, Camp Kemo, Johnson C. Smith University, and the Institute of Divine Health just to name a few. With their help, we have been successful at providing resources, and assistance through programs, and services to all persons in need throughout the Charlotte community, and abroad.
The Ledessa Brown Foundation Started a Feed the Hungry initiative within the lower-income Charlotte communities, along with hosting a back to school drive every year for the local children also providing clothes, and shoes for those in need.

What Christians Didn’t Teach Me!
This will allow students, and community attendees, to have a safe space for open dialog/conversation around biblical theology that has helped shape our beliefs as Christians, as well as our Biblical Worldview, based on how we interpret and interact with and within the world in present day, and even in the future. The goal is to include community leaders of all genders, ethnicities, and ages from within different Christian Denominations, within the local Community and Surrounding, as well as Theological/Seminary Professors, to help provide a wide range of perspectives, knowledge, and understanding.
